Laboratory of Research and Analysis of Working Conditions of Industrial Professions.

Based on the Decree No. 21/2019 of Rector of the Silesian University of Technology from the day of September 27, 2019, in the organisational structure of the International Centre of Interdisciplinary Research, a Laboratory of Research and Analysis of Working Conditions of Industrial Professions has been created.  

Laboratory of Research and Analysis of Working Conditions of Industrial Professions consists of two laboratories:

  1. Pracowni 1: Badań i Analiz Zawodów Przemysłowych Okresu Preindustrialnego 
  2. Pracowni 2: Badań i Analiz Zawodów Przemysłowych Przyszłości

It is located at the seat of the International Centre of Interdisciplinary Research and at the facility of the Historic Silver Mine of the Tarnowskie Góry – Land Enthusiasts Association in Tarnowskie Góry. 

The main goal of the Laboratory’s activity is enabling the acquisition of knowledge about industrial roots of the region and showing how the Silesian industry was changing since the establishment of the first mines to the modern industrial revolution 4.0. 

The research and analysis of the working conditions of industrial professions in Silesia are conducted as a part of the Laboratory, therefore, they will include the past, present and the future of industry. 

The research on working conditions of industrial professions in the pre-industrial and industrial past will be realised by the Tarnowskie Góry Land Enthusiasts Association, and the research conducted by scientists of the Silesian University of Technology will focus on present and future technical solutions influencing working conditions. The totality constitutes unique, innovative description of the industrial works, from prehistory, through the modern times, up until futuristic vision based on the prognosis of the future works and professions.

The laboratory will be committed to broadening the interdisciplinary cooperation between the representatives of humanistic and technical sciences. Therefore, the interdisciplinary teams out of the representatives of socio-humanistic and technical sciences will be constituted.

Laboratory of Research and Analysis of Working Conditions of Industrial Professionsis the first and only entity of such kind in the whole country. 

Creation of the Laboratory is a common initiative of the Silesian University of Technology and the Tarnowskie Góry Land Enthusiasts Association, which main goal is the activity for the technical monuments (including those entered on the UNESCO list).

Laboratory of Research and Analysis of Working Conditions of Industrial Professions is created to perform the task resulting from the realisation of the project as a part of a DIALOG project and is financed from the grant of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, obtained within the DIALOG project. The financing amount equals PLN 1,512,809.75.

The project approved for funding through a competition announced on January 24, 2019 by the Minister of Science and Higher Education as a part of the “DIALOG” programme constituted by the Statement of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of January 23, 2019 on the establishment of the programme called “Dialog”

Laboratory of Research and Analysis of Working Conditions of Industrial Professions is financed as a part of the programme of the Minister of Science and Higher Education under the name “DIALOG” in 2016-2019″
